VILNIUS - Starting March 10, all travelers arriving or returning to Lithuania will need to present a negative Covid-19 test taken up to 72 hours before arrival, the Lithuanian government decided on Wednesday.

All people arriving or returning to Lithuania "on international routes organized and operated by carriers as regular, special and charter services by all modes of transport" will be required to show a document in or translated into Lithuanian, English or Russian, proving the negative result. Serological antibody tests will not be valid for entry, according to the government's resolution.

Exemptions apply to crew members, travelers transiting Lithuania, people aged under 16 years, and persons have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or recovered from the virus if the diagnosis has been confirmed "on the basis of a positive SARS-CoV-2 PCR test or antigen test result". Currently, travelers arriving or returning from countries on the list of coronavirus-affected territories must show a negative test result taken up to 48 hours before arrival or get tested on arrival in Lithuania.
